Method Architects was founded in 2010 with a vision to offer the services and design expertise of a large practice but with the nimbleness, personal attention and minimal overheads of a smaller organisation.
It is a smart, lean approach that has proved its worth. Method’s client list now extends from energetic private developers to some of London’s most exciting restaurateurs and largest housing associations in London and the South East. The practice regularly works with exacting hospitality operators such as The Langham Hotels Group, Caprice Holdings and InterContinental Hotels Group, and repeat business forms the majority of the project work.
Method’s architect-directors have more than 20 years of experience in designing environments as diverse as high-end restaurants and 500 home mixed-use developments. The directors’ knowledge of assembling mixed-tenure schemes is a particular strength.
Method also has a consistent record in helping its clients gain difficult planning permissions and test the viability of sites. It understands the commercial factors affecting development
and the relationship between investment and quality, risk and reward.
Because of this, the practice takes the lead role in the design team so that their clients’ best interests are represented at all stages of a scheme from initial feasibility through to completion.
The process is made as streamlined and efficient as possible with Method managing a team of expert consultants with whom they have long-standing relationships and whose skills are brought to bear as they are needed.
Unusually for an architectural practice, Method also has expert communication skills that go well beyond the drawings. This smooths out what can be otherwise a complicated process and allows Method’s fresh and innovative architecture to emerge.
It is a design approach that favours the contemporary but is informed by history. Method believes in the potential for modern construction to frame the human need for a sense of solidity, security and longevity.
